Valley of flowers is a famous National park situated in North Chamoli & Pithoraghar district in Uttarakhand at an elevation of 3658 meters above from Sea level, Valley of Flowers is known for the different varieties of Flora & spatial alpine flowers & also includes some endangered species like Asiatic Black Bear, Brown Bear, Red Fox, Musk Deer, Blue sheep & Snow Leopard. It is mainly popular among those tourist who like to do long days trekking as it have 7 days trek from Delhi & 5 days trek from Dehradun. Badrinath, Govindghat, Joshimath & Ghangaria are some famous places near to Valley of flowers & the trek for valley of flower starts from Govindghat for which the first step is of 14 kms, the National Park opens from June to October & the remaining year gets cover with snow & due to this the best time to visit Valley of flowers is from July to August because in these months you can see the various varieties of flowers.
Delhi to Valley of flowers distance is 550 km approx and to reach valley of flowers from Delhi you need to take one day halt in Haridwar or Rishikesh & one day halt in Govindghat after that from next day your trek will start for Valley of flowers from Govindghat & taxi driver will wait for you in the parking until you return back from Valley of Flowers, for reaching Valley of Flowers taxi’s are available from Delhi & the nearest Railway station to Valley of flowers is Rishikesh which is about 275 km approx in distance.
